How to make a copy of OSX Lion

Backup Lion before you Upgrade

ATTENTION DON’T UPGRADE BEFORE MAKING A COPY OF LION AS IT DELETES ITSELF

If you’d like to make a copy of Lion you’ll need to download it with the App Store as normal BUT don’t upgrade just yet why not make a backup of it first?

Take a look over at http://lifehacker.com/5823096/how-to-burn-your-own-lion-install-dvd-or-flash-drive

Of course I didn’t know this before and won’t be downloading it again though I’d like to have a copy of it.

  1. you can re-download the package after – from the app store, hold down option when clicking the “purchases” button. Instead of an inactive “Installed”, there’ll be an active “install” button.

  2. Cheers Owen handy tip :) it’s 3.4?GBs I don’t want to download right now though ah well I’ll know for again .. wait a day before upgrading :D or grab a copy from one of the lads next time I’m in Carlow.
